How Listing Liyo connects to your Etsy shop — and how to disconnect at any time.
About the Etsy API
The term “Etsy” is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. Listing Liyo uses Etsy's Open API to provide its service but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc. Listing Liyo is an independent application and is solely responsible for its features and data practices.
How We Connect to Etsy
Listing Liyo uses Etsy's official OAuth 2.0 authorization to connect to your shop. Here is the step-by-step flow:
- You click “Connect your Etsy shop” inside Listing Liyo.
- You are redirected to Etsy's official website where you log in using your own credentials.
- Etsy shows you a permissions screen explaining exactly what Listing Liyo is requesting access to.
- You click “Allow” on Etsy's page — or decline if you prefer not to proceed.
- Etsy sends an authorization token to Listing Liyo. We store this token securely and use it to make API calls on your behalf.
- Your shop data becomes accessible within Listing Liyo, and you can start managing your listings.
Listing Liyo never sees or stores your Etsy password. All credential handling is done by Etsy directly.
What Data We Access
We request only the minimum Etsy API scopes required to deliver the service:

What Data We Do NOT Access
We are explicit about what we do not access. Listing Liyo does not request or read:

Data Security Measures
We take the security of your data seriously. Our practices include:
- All data is transmitted over TLS 1.2 or higher (HTTPS).
- OAuth tokens are stored encrypted at rest and are never exposed in logs or client-facing responses.
- Listing data is cached for up to 6 hours and shop data for up to 24 hours to comply with Etsy API rate limits. Cached data is deleted when your account is removed.
- We retain your data for up to 30 days after account deletion, after which it is permanently purged.
- Access to production systems is limited to authorized personnel and is protected by multi-factor authentication.
How to Disconnect
You are always in control of your Etsy connection. You can revoke Listing Liyo’s access at any time:
Option 1 — From your Etsy account (recommended):
Log in to your Etsy account, navigate to Account Settings › Apps › Authorized Applications, and revoke access for Listing Liyo. Once revoked, Listing Liyo can no longer make API calls on your behalf and your shop is automatically marked as disconnected.
Option 2 — Delete your Listing Liyo account:
Go to your Account Settings and choose “Delete Account.” This permanently removes your account and all associated Etsy data from our systems.
Need to move or disconnect a single shop?
If you want to disconnect one shop, or move a shop to a different account, contact our support team and we’ll take care of it for you.
After a shop is disconnected — by revoking access, deleting your account, or via support — its cached listing data is deleted from our servers within 7 days. Account data (your name, email, subscription status) is retained for up to 30 days then permanently deleted.
